I Almost Paid $69.95 To Fix My Laptop…😅

I called customer service trying to figure out why my laptop wouldn’t charge…

Let me just tell you what happened so you don’t go through the same thing 😂

The Story

So I did all the usual things first…

✔ unplugged it
✔ plugged it back in
✔ tried different outlets
✔ even tried a different C cord

Nothing worked.

So I finally gave in and called customer service.

They walked me through all the same questions I had already asked myself (of course 😄)
and when none of that worked, he tells me…

👉 “It’s probably the laptop.”

And then comes the solution…

Send it in, give them a credit card for shipping, and they’ll run a diagnostic for …

👉 $69.95 (not $70… because that sounds better apparently 😂)

The Part That Didn’t Sit Right

I asked him what made him think it was the laptop.

His answer?
👉 “The warranty is out and it was purchased in 2023.”

…what? 😅

So I told him I’d think about it and call back.

What Actually Happened

Instead of sending it in, we kept messing with it.

My husband suggested trying a phone charging cord…

Didn’t work.

Then he said,
👉 “Try your laptop cord.”

And just like that…

It worked.

The Real Problem

Not the laptop.
Not the outlet.

👉 The cord.

The Outcome

So instead of spending $69.95 (plus whatever else would’ve come with that)…

I’m buying a new charger cord for $29.95

(aka… I’m calling it $40 because that’s how my brain works 😄)

Why I’m Sharing This

Because sometimes we jump straight to the big problem…

when it’s really just the simple thing

And if this saves someone from sending their laptop in and paying for something they don’t need…

it was worth telling the story
